5-9 February Assignment

There is truly distraction in wireless classroom. When I was back in China, we actually carried out a listening class on internet. At that time many students pretended to be doing listening exercises, but they were secretly chatting or playing video games. We teachers then came up with the idea of giving them restricted access to internet. Students could only log on to campus website after restriction was effective. Therefore only learning materials and facilitative materials were available. This move forced them to learn attentively.

I agree with you that campus intranet may be a good way to guide online learning for students.
But more importantly, students should be taught how to apply good strategies in online learning.

What method did you use to give them restricted access? Did you ask technical support staff to change the network access settings? How did students react?
